Jose De Jesus Zepeda 5 Mar 1824 – 1884 Cepeda Cemetery was started in 1884 when Jose De Jesus Zepeda was buried there. Jose was born in Helotes in 1824. He owned the Cepeda Ranch from 1847 until his death. Son of Victoriano Zepeda (Victoriano- Not Royalist), his father had moved to San Antonio around the time of the battle of Medina appx 1814. Victoriano was the last County Clerk before Texas winning Independence from Mexico.
Jose married Juana Rodriguez-Perez Zepeda in 1850. Sons Jesus Rodriguez Cepeda, Victoriano Zepeda, and Adolfo Zepeda are buried here. Daughter Vicenta Zepeda Lurati is buried here.
